Our Brands

Skylark

The Skylark avocado brand has deep roots in New Zealand. Established in the Bay of Plenty by Jack and Betty Crozier in the late 1970s, Skylark has grown over several decades to become one of the country’s most recognised and trusted avocado brands.

Today, we continue that proud legacy through our industry-leading avocado ripening programme. Our six state-of-the-art ripening rooms allow us to carefully condition fruit for supermarket retail and food-service customers, delivering avocados that are ready to enjoy when consumers want them.

Professionally ripened fruit provides a better eating experience, increases consumer confidence, and helps avocados move more quickly through the supply chain. This supports stronger retail sales, increased demand and greater value for our growers and customers.

We have invested significantly in our facilities, technology, and expertise to ensure Skylark remains at the forefront of avocado ripening in New Zealand. From orchard to shelf, our focus is on delivering consistent quality, dependable supply, and great-tasting avocados.

Vitor

Primor has enjoyed a long relationship with Vitor, which is part of the Costa Group. What began as a citrus pack shed in Renmark, South Australia, has developed into a vertically integrated grower/packer/exporter of quality citrus from the Riverland region of South Australia and Sunraysia region of Victoria in Australia. Vitor has established itself as a well-known brand in the New Zealand market, particularly with its supply of seedless easy-peel Afourer Mandarins which you’ll see on shelves from late July.

During our local off season and periods of lower volume, we work with Vitor to ensure we keep citrus on the shelves.

Nature’s Quirks

Nature’s Quirks was created to give “non-premium produce” a second chance. By finding a home for fruit and vegetables that may not meet cosmetic or size standards, we help reduce food waste while providing consumers with fresh produce at great value.

We work with our growers to identify produce with minor imperfections that is just as fresh, nutritious, and delicious as premium grade fruit and vegetables. Rather than letting this produce go to waste, it is carefully packed under the Nature’s Quirks brand and supplied to retailers across New Zealand.

By creating a market for lower-grade produce, Nature’s Quirks helps maximise returns for our growers, supports more sustainable farming practices, and reduces unnecessary food waste. It’s a simple idea that delivers benefits throughout the supply chain – from orchard to supermarket shelf.
