Primor’s presence with personnel and facilities in Pukekohe is witness to the importance the main green vegetables play in our domestic business. The Pukekohe and wider Franklin area is the major growing area of core vegetables in New Zealand, situated within an hour’s drive from New Zealand’s major city, Auckland.

“Fresh cut”

Primor runs a “fresh cut” business supplying greens to major retailers 52 weeks per year, six and sometimes seven days per week. Our focus is heavily on quality, and programmed supply to match anticipated retail demand.

Our Pukekohe location is right in the key growing region, and our coolers there are kept busy ensuring our customers receive product at the optimum temperature. And as much as the physical handling requirements, most important is our ability to marry grower supply issues with consumer demands, in a professional manner that is genuinely seen to “add value”.

Greens are not the most “glamorous” items in the produce department, but can be a key determinant of consumer perception about the retail location where they are shopping.
